Designated by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency as an "Energy Star" Building, Southern California
Gas Company's Energy Resource Center is a model of advanced,
energy-efficient and environmentally sensitive building technology.
The ERC showcases innovations in resource-efficient designs,
materials and equipment to help businesses make informed choices
about energy consumption and conservation.
HelioDynamics was invited to showcase its
solar air-conditioning technology at the ERC. Ground space for solar
collection was unavailable at the site but we were able to position
our collectors on the flat roof of the facility. The system we
designed and installed consisted of three
HD16 solar collectors
feeding an absorption chiller which provides cooling for the
facility. |
